Start your coursework — Get immediate access to the program and begin right away, either at a self-pace or in a scheduled small group/cohort.

Complete your background check — Required before the live teaching practicum. We'll walk you through it during your first weeks.
Practicum & Background Check
Your Level 5 Diploma doesn't require the teaching practicum to be earned — the credential itself is complete without it. That said, we strongly encourage every student to complete it: it's genuinely valuable, hands-on experience that strengthens your resume and your readiness to teach.
Because the practicum involves live teaching with real students (organized through partner schools across the world), it requires a clean background check, completed through our verification partner, before you can begin. We'll guide you through this process after you enroll.
If your background check doesn't clear, or you choose not to complete the practicum:
You'll still receive your full Highfield Level 5 Diploma in TESOL — just without the practicum component.

FAQ
Do I need to choose a pricing track when I register? No — tuition is a flat $650 for everyone. If you end up not completing the practicum, whether by choice or because your background check doesn't clear, you'll receive a refund afterward. See below for details.
Do I need a background check to enroll? No — a background check is only needed if you plan to complete the practicum, and only to begin live teaching, which happens after you've started coursework. If you don't plan to pursue the practicum, there's nothing to submit.
What if my background check doesn't clear, or I decide not to do the practicum? You can still receive your full Highfield Level 5 Diploma. However, in terms of a refund, you can only receive a partial refund (tuition minus the registration fee) IF you haven't started the coursework yet. If you already started the coursework, then no refund is available at any point beyond that.
How is this different from your 60-hour and 120-hour certificates? The Level 5 Diploma is our only Ofqual-regulated credential, independently verifiable and recognized at the same framework level as CELTA.
What if I want a full refund? Refunds follow our Refund & Enrollment Policy — in short, tuition is refundable if you withdraw before starting coursework, and non-refundable afterward (aside from the practicum-related adjustment above).
